Jason Williams is a visual artist living and working in South Carolina. He was born in 1978. He is a veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq with the United States Army. His artistic education began with the classical teachings from the tutelage of Jean Parsons at the Interlochen Arts Academy. Subsequent to that he attended the Post-Graduate program at Interlochen before heading abroad for his B.F.A. in Sculpture that was received from the Glasgow School of Art in Glasgow, Scotland. His areas of focus over the years have lead to a vast array of areas of specialty; ranging from Installation & Found Object Art, Painting & Printmaking, Metal Fabrication, Jewellery & Metalsmithing, Furniture Design & Fabrication, Graphic Design & Branding.
Formally on the board of the Londonderry Arts Council where he was the Chair. When asked he smiled and replied that after returning to the states from studying and living in Scotland, I started my own art company, apartfromthedirt, which ranges from mixed media, traditional, business branding & misc design, high-end furniture and one-off projects with furniture restoration and customisation. We venture into transforming what others may consider rubbish into new treasure by seeking out what others may not think to repurpose. I look forward to the future and where I'll be in the coming years- traveling, inspiring or more likely, being inspired by others.
